Nolay
Explore the medieval streets around the church and 14th century
covered market. The stone roof weighs hundreds of tons and
is supported by sturdy yet elegant timbers. The pavement cafes
in the square are a special place to enjoy a coffee or an
aperitif.
La Rochepot
The imposing château was originally built in the 12th
century and rebuilt on a neighbouring rock in the 15th century.
The patterns made by brightly coloured roof tiles are a traditional
feature of buildings in Burgundy. Visit the château,
the church and the ancient covered walkway.

Cormatin
The château has some of the finest interiors and painted
ceilings in France. The gardens and one of the largest mazes
in France are perfect for a peaceful stroll in an authentic
17th century atmosphere. Nearby, the Bicycle Museum tells
the fascinating story of the bicycle since its invention as
a hobby horse in 1818.
Buxy

A typical Burgundian market town in a quiet green setting,
the remains of its battlements flanked by two round towers.
Visit the wine museum and the wine co-operative to sample
some of the regions most famous wines. Surrounded by vineyards
on sloping hillsides dotted with beautiful houses, chateaux
and chapels.
St Gengoux Le National
A village with the remains of medieval battlements, long narrow
streets with typical Burgundian houses situated on the border
of the Maconais and Chalonais wine regions.

Burgundy
Vineyards

Walk through the famous vineyards of Burgundy, home to some
of the most famous wines of France including Pommard, Meursault,
Poligny Montrechet and Montagny. Stop for tastings along the
way of these superior wines. Visit the Chateau in Meursault
for a tour of their cellars.
Cirque du Bout du Monde
The
river Cozanne comes out of a deep and narrow underground cave
onto rocks of pink granite, in a pretty valley. Follow the
trail through meadows to the Cirque du Bout du Monde nestling
under impressive chalky cliffs beside a waterfall.
Montagne des Trois Croix
At
the summit, by the 3 crosses is a panoramic view of Burgundy
and beyond to Jura and the Alps. Originally a burial site,
now famous its unique flora including numerous species of
orchid which grow here.
