Cycle through Jura along silent forest tracks and country lanes through pasture, upland farms and villages, to the ancient town of Salins les Bains. From there, head across the vineyards to the undulating woods and farmland of the south.

Day 1: Arrive at Champagnole

On arrival at the railway station our representative will take you to our base hotel, known for its old-style grandeur and friendly family welcome.

Day 2: Champagnole – Salins les Bains
31 kms

Cycle across the typical Jura countryside.
A mix of small villages, woods, plains and rolling pasture as you cycle alongside the ancient Forest de Joux.

Day 3: Salins les Bains

Take a fascinating tour of the 17th century saltworks, on which the town’s wealth is based. Cycle along quiet country lanes to the pretty villages along the banks of the Loue River.

Day 4: Salins les Bains – Passenans
38 kms

Stop for a tasting in the wine shops of Arbois before tackling the hill to Pupillin. After lunch at the Auberge, continue to the medieval town of Poligny, famous for its Comté cheese.

Day 5: Passenans

A day trip to see one of the prettiest villages in France, Baume les Messieurs, set in a deeply cut gorge. The cliffs rise on either side as you approach the village, drawing you into the valley. Climb the stairway cut into the cliffs for a magnificent view of the whole valley.

Day 6: Passenans – Champagnole
40 kms

Stop for a swim at the Lac de Chalain, then continue on forest tracks and minor roads to Champagnole. Keen cyclists can cycle to the viewpoint at the top of the falls above the Cascades du Hérrison to walk the footpath between the waterfalls.

Day 7: Leave for Home

After breakfast, our representative will take you to the railway station for your journey home.
