The weather in Auvergne is a mountainous region. Our holidays
cover the peaks of the Monts du Cantal and the lower plateaux
and gorges to the Margeride.
In summer there are clear blue skies and high temperatures.
However thunderstorms can occur higher up usually after
a spell of hot weather. Morning mists often clear later
in the day when the sun burns them off.
Take waterproofs with you if the weather is unsettled just
in case as well as high factor sun protection and a hat.
Listen to weather forecasts before going out and if in doubt
about the weather forecast do not climb the mountain peaks,
there is usually an alternative walk we can suggest for
the day.
