Northumberland Coast Path

Northumberland Coast Path

The Northumberland Coastal Path covers 62 miles of stunning coastline, noted for its spectacular beaches backed by sand dunes and set against rocky headlands and dark whinstone outcrops. A low lying walk which takes you from the historic walled city of Berwick-upon-Tweed in the north, to Cresswell in the south, you will meander through charming coastal villages and pass some of the dramatic castles Northumberland is famous for, visiting places steeped in history such as Lindisfarne ‘Holy Island’. Bamburgh and its Castle, The quaint fishing village of Craster and Medieval Warkworth with Castle and Hermits Cave.

The landscape is constantly changing, and an experience never forgotten.

The route starts in Cresswell and travels north finishing in Berwick upon Tweed.

Traditionally this takes 7 days to walk, however you can choose to do it at a pace that suits you.

Simply select the number of days you would like to do the route over from the list below and we will book accommodation to suit.

As a guide the walk can be graded as below based on the days spent walking.

6 nights 5 walking days – Demanding
7 nights 6 walking days – Moderate to Demanding
9 nights 8 walking days – Moderate
10 nights 9 walking days – Moderate to Easy
11 nights 10 walking days – Easy
